Guinayangan, Quezon and
Isla Sta. Rita, Del Gallego, Camarines Sur

Just before the start of Holy Week this year 2001, Vangie and I decided to go to Guinayangan, Quezon (proncounced Ginyangan) upon the invitation of my officemate, Billy (actually, we invited ourselves, he he he). Anyway, we left Manila last April 7 (Saturday) at around 2 AM bound for Guinayangan, Quezon. Arriving at around 8 AM, we had breakfast at our host's in laws and then had the day to ourselves. In the afternoon, we went to a resort somewhere. It was a pool where the water comes directly from a stream. There was an entrance fee of P5 each and the cottage was free. The water was cool which was just fine with us and there were only a few people swimming there.

The following day, we went to Isla Sta. Rita Resort in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur. It was a 30-minute pump-boat ride from Guinayangan across the Ragay Gulf. Vangie and I decided to stay there for a night. It was kinda scary 'coz the resort was deserted. It's a good thing a group of teenagers decided to stay there for the night too. At least we had some company. It was a full moon that night, so we placed a blanket on the beach, lied down and stared at the sky till we decided it was time to go to bed.

The following day, we were picked up by the pump-boat at around noon for our return to Guinayangan. We stayed there for the night and the following day, we got on a bus for our return to Manila.

There is nothing like fresh buko picked straight from the coconut tree.

There is nothing like fresh seafood to eat at the beach. Picture taken at Isla Sta. Rita Resort

A panoramic view of the beach taken from the sea. Lacking a panoramic capable camera, I had to take two shots and joined them together.

The cottage where we stayed for the night. This rents for about P500/night.

No man is an island.
